Artificial intelligence research startup introduced its AI chatbot called ChatGPT in November 2022. Since its release, the popular chatbot has gone viral due to its ‘human-like’ abilities that can process prompts to write essays, articles, poems and more. The chatbot has also been criticised by several educational institutions as teachers fear that ChatGPT will hinder the learning curve of students and will facilitate cheating. To solve this issue, ChatGPT creator has now come up with a new tool named AI classifier, that will help users to identify text generated by artificial intelligence. OpenAI has updated its blog post to announce the latest software that can detect AI-generated text. Here are all the details about the tool that can detect text written on ChatGPT:
What is AI classifier
The AI classifier is a language model that is trained on the dataset of both human-written and AI-written texts on the same topic. This tool aims to distinguish text written by humans from ones written by AI. As per the company. the latest software uses a variety of providers to address issues like — automated misinformation campaigns and academic dishonesty.
AI classifier: Availability and drawbacks
The company has also addressed the competency of the detection tool and has mentioned that the software is very unreliable on texts under 1,000 characters. Moreover, OpenAI also warns that edited texts that are originally AI-written can even trick the classifier.
AI classifier is currently in its public beta mode and the company has mentioned that it will make the tool publicly available to get feedback on the usefulness of such an “imperfect tool”.

AI classifier: Importance
OpenAI has mentioned that it recognises the importance of identifying AI-written text among educators. The company also explains that this tool is also important to understand the “limits and impacts of AI-generated text classifiers in the classroom.”
ChatGPT banned by schools and colleges
The viral chatbot has been banned from several educational institutions which include — US schools, Bengaluru colleges and a top university in France among others. These institutions are concerned that students will use this AI chatbot to cheat or plagiarise.
Third-party detection tools like GPTZero have also been introduced to help educators detect AI-generated text. OpenAI has also confirmed that it is engaging with educators to discuss ChatGPT’s capabilities and limitations. The company has also promised to continue working on the detection of AI-generated text.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said that mobile phone manufacturing in India has increased from 5.8 units in 2014-15 to 31 crore units valued at in 2022-23 financial year. While presenting the budget in the Parliament, the FM said that the government will exempt customs duty on imports of certain parts to drive mobile phone production units in the country.

“As a result of the various initiatives of the government, including phased manufacturing programs, mobile production in India increased from 5.8 crore units valued at Rs 18,900 crore in 2014-15 to 31 crore units valued at Rs 2,75,000 crore in the last financial year,” Sitharaman said in her Union Budget speech.

Sitharaman said that the central government will exempt customs duty on imports of certain parts such as camera lens. Furthermore, concessional duties on lithium ion cells for battery will continue for one more year.
The FM also said that the government will also boost television production in the country by reducing basic custom duties on parts of open cells of TV panels to 2.5%.
Smartphone production in India
Xiaomi, Samsung and Apple are among various top brands that are assembling smartphones in India. Apple, which started assembling its flagship iPhone 14 in India last year, has been producing older models since 2017 in the country.

Piyush Goyal, India’s minister of commerce and industry, recently called Apple “another success story” and said that the Cupertino-based company is looking to manufacture 25% of all of its iPhones in India
“They’re [Apple] already at about 5-7% of their manufacturing in India. If I am not mistaken, they are targeting to go up to 25% of their manufacturing,” Goyal said while speaking at the Inception Meeting of Business 20 (B20) earlier this month.
In November last year, Telecom and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the biggest unit to manufacture Apple iPhone in India will come up at Hosur near Bengaluru.

EA Sports and Respawn Entertainment introduced the Apex Legends Mobile game for smartphones and tablets in May 2022. After running for nearly a year, the game makers have now decided to shut down the game. EA has updated its official blog post to announce the shutdown. In this blog post, Respawn has also explained the reason for shutting down the popular mobile title after working on the game for months. The company claimed that it has started to fall short of the standard set for quality, quantity and cadence.
Apex Legends Mobile to shut down: How will it affect players
As per the blog post, the company will disable all real money in-app purchases in the game starting today (February 1). Apex Legends Mobile will soon be removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The blog post also mentions that the game will cease its operations in all regions on May 1. After this date, Apex Legends Mobile will no longer be playable.
However, during these 3 months (before the game stops working permanently) players can spend their existing Syndicate Gold and continue playing the full game. The company has also mentioned it will not be providing refunds for real money purchases. This announcement complies with the terms of the EA User Agreement. The PC and console versions of Apex Legends will still be available for players to access.

Apex Legends Mobile to shut down: Respawn’s reaction
Respawn has mentioned that the shutting down of the Apex Legends Mobile title has been a “painful decision” for the gaming studio. The company explains that factors beyond its control have prevented it from maintaining the “high-quality experience and content.”
Last year, soon after its launch, Apex Legends Mobile reportedly became the most downloaded game in Apple App Store across 60 countries. The game also had a pre-registration count of 15 million players.

Payments firm PayPal has announced that it is planning to cut up to 7% of its workforce which accounts for close to 2,000 employees.

The company has also confirmed that the smartphone will launch later this year. Now a new leak has surfaced online revealing that Nothing is also working on new true wireless earbuds. The leak suggests that Nothing is working on Nothing Ear (2) true wireless earbuds.

Onleaks has revealed that Nothing is working on the successor of Nothing Ear (1) true wireless earbuds. Likely to the called Nothing Ear (2), OnLeaks has also shared some images of the upcoming earbuds revealing its likely design.
As per the leaked images, Nothing Ear (2) will resemble a lot to Nothing Ear (1) in terms of design. The yet-to-launch true wireless earbuds are tipped to sport a similar transparent design. The company is said to change the placement of the noise-cancelling microphones on the earbuds.

This time the noise-cancelling microphones are rumoured to be placed on the stem and not on the top part of the earbuds. Along with this, the company is also expected to make some minor changes in the internal design of the earbuds.
The leak further suggests that the Nothing Ear (2) may come with a ‘personalised’ ANC mode.
The mode is said to allow users to customise the level of noise cancellation. The new ANC mode is said to be available along with the Light and Maximum modes on Ear (1). The upcoming TWS is also said to feature a transparency mode.
Along with customised ANC, the upcoming Nothing Ear (2) earbuds are also rumoured to offer dual or multipoint connectivity. The feature will enable users to connect the earbuds to two devices at the same time and also switch between them.

OnePlus is all set to launch its latest flagship smartphone — OnePlus 11 on February 7 in India. Along with the smartphone, the company has also revealed that it will also launch its latest pair of true wireless earbuds — OnePlus Buds Pro 2 in the country. Now ahead of the official launch, the Chinese smartphone maker has slashed the price of the OnePlus Buds Pro which were launched in 2021.

OnePlus launched the Buds Pro in 2021 at Rs 9,990 and it has now got a price cut of Rs 1,000. Customers can now purchase the true wireless earbuds at Rs 8,990 after the price drop. The customers can purchase the earbuds in Radiant Silver, Matte Black and Glossy White colour options.

OnePlus Buds Pro features 11mm dynamic drivers and Dolby Atmos support. The OnePlus Buds Pro comes with the OnePlus Audio ID, a calibrated sound profile that customises each piece of music based on user-specific sound sensitivities. The OnePlus Buds Pro is also enabled with Zen mode that lets users choose from a list of white noise to reduce stress during activities like yoga or meditation, or even while trying to sleep.
The OnePlus Buds Pro has a claimed battery life of up to 38 hours on a full charge along with the charging case. With 10 minutes of Warp Charge, OnePlus claims that users can expect 10 hours of playtime. The OnePlus Buds Pro is also compatible with third-party Qi-certified wireless chargers.
The OnePlus Buds Pro true wireless earbuds offer Bluetooth v5.2 support and latency as low as 94ms with Pro Gaming mode turned on. The charging case is IPX4 water resistance rated, and the earbuds are IP55 certified.

Supermicro unveiled an Arm-based server – the ARS-210M-NR – in December 2022 and Servethehome took it for a spin, loading it with four Nvidia A16 cards.
