LG C3 OLED TV
LG announces US prices for its new OLED TVs, and there’s mixed news

[ad_1]

LG has announced the price and release date (well, release window, really) for its 2023 OLED TV range, including the LG C3 and LG G3. You can find all the prices just below, but the important things to know are that the LG C3 and LG G3 will available to pre-order from LG directly on March 6, 2023, and will be released in late March.

The more affordable LG B3 will be available in April – and there’s no cheap LG A3 model this year for US buyers (though it will be available elsewhere in the world), and that’s a shame for reasons we’ll explain in a moment. But here’s what you really want – the big price list:

[ad_1]

The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), a sector within the Department of Justice, has been hit with what it describes as a “major” ransomware (opens in new tab) attack, in which sensitive employee data might have been taken.

Department spokesperson Drew Wade confirmed the incident, which he said took place on February 17, was a “ransomware and data exfiltration event affecting a stand-alone USMS system”.

LG G3 on wall
LG confirms its G3 TV has next-gen OLED tech, teases Samsung-beating brightness

[ad_1]

The upcoming LG G3 OLED uses a Micro Lens Array panel in order to boost brightness, the company has confirmed to TechRadar. It’s rare for LG Electronics to ever confirm what sort of OLED panel it’s using, and it had been extremely cagey about what was in the G3, but the company explained that some sizes (explained below) of the G3 will use so-called ‘3rd-gen OLED’ panels from LG Display – the latter is the part of LG that actually makes OLED screens (its panels are used in almost all the best OLED TVs), and operates separately to LG Electronics, which makes the TVs.

LG has been showing the G3 off at recent events, and the headline news is that the TV looks set to match or even exceed the (perhaps briefly) world’s-best brightness of the Samsung S95C, which we measured during the testing time of our early hands-on Samsung S95C review

[ad_1]

2023 could very well be the biggest year ever for cybercriminals, new figures have claimed.

According to SonicWall’s latest figures, cybercrime is on the rise across the board, but trends are slowly shifting which is something IT security teams should keep in mind. More precisely, hackers are opting for a “slow and low” approach, keeping stealthy while trying to achieve financially-motivated goals.

In a bizarre twist, Windows OS is now supporting a vital iPhone feature

[ad_1]

Something we never thought we’d see happen has, in fact, happened. In the latest update to its Phone Link app for Windows, the tech giant is bringing support to the Apple iPhone – most notably, iMessage for Windows 11.

According to Microsoft’s official blog (opens in new tab) and reported by The Verge (opens in new tab), the Phone Link app works by mirroring your phone on your PC for notifications, phone calls, and messages. With this update, iPhone users can now connect their devices to a Windows laptop or PC, send messages through iMessage, make and receive calls, and get notifications through Windows 11.

Realme GT 3 hands-on back straight
Realme’s new Android phone charges to 100% faster than you can finish a coffee

[ad_1]

How fast do you need to charge your phone? Because Realme thinks – no matter how quick your current device is – it’s not quick enough. That’s based on the international launch of its new flagship, the Realme GT 3 – which boasts impressive 240W fast charging.

The company used Mobile World Congress 2023 as the stage for the launch of the Realme GT 3, which comes one year on from the global release of the Realme GT Neo 3 – one of the first smartphones to feature 150W fast charging.

Final Fantasy 16
How Final Fantasy 16 is brought to life with PS5 hardware

[ad_1]

Final Fantasy 16 is looking like the biggest and most detailed game in the series to date and takes full advantage of the PS5’s capabilities to achieve its lofty ambitions. It’s slated for a June 22 release.

The biggest difference that separates Final Fantasy 16 on PS5 from most of its predecessors is the real-time battle system which goes for all-out spectacle. This is done by utilizing the console’s NVMe SSD and GPU prowess for enemy encounters that just weren’t possible on older hardware.

A recent hands-on with Final Fantasy 16 from the PlayStation Blog has deep-dived into exactly why the RPG will become: “an essential PS5 title”. This can be evidenced through encounters with the Eikons, which are essentially giant monsters that you’ll have to face throughout your journey. Inspired by Japanese Kaiju, you’ll be taking on all manner of larger foes to see what you’re made of. From the early gameplay revealed, it’s looking to have more in common with something like God of War Ragnarok than your everyday JRPG.

The combat appears to have taken influence from Devil May Cry 5 in terms of the sheer scale and cinematic flair. So, if you’re a fan of fast-paced spectacle fighters, Final Fantasy 16 should cater to you with the lengthy combos that can be pulled off and special Eikon-themed moves that are only a cooldown away.
