Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear A are confirmed to launch on April 18. Days ahead of the official debut, alleged renders of the truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones have surfaced on the Web alongside their price points and specifications. The renders suggest a semi-transparent design for the upcoming earphones, similar to their predecessors. The Nothing Ear A are tipped to come with active noise cancellation (ANC) of up to 45dB and offer an IP54-rated build.
Known tipster Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) has posted alleged renders, pricing, and specifications of Nothing Ear and Ear A on X. The images suggest a design identical to Nothing’s previous wireless earbuds. They appear to have a semi-transparent case and stem. The Nothing Ear A are shown in black, white, and yellow shades, while the Nothing Ear are shown in black and white colourways. The renders show “Nothing” engraved on the stem and they seem to have red and white dots to indicate the left and right sides, same as before.
As per the tipster, the Nothing Ear A will cost EUR 99 (roughly Rs. 8,000). They are said to offer up to 45dB ANC and dual connection. They might offer up to eight hours of battery life with ANC off and are said to get IP54 water resistance. The new leak corroborates previous reports.
On the other hand, the Nothing Ear are tipped to be priced at EUR 149 (roughly Rs. 13,000). The tipster believes that the earbuds will be priced below Rs. 9,999 in India.
Nothing will announce its Ear A and Ear TWS earphones on Thursday, April 18. The UK-based brand currently has three audio products in its portfolio — Nothing Ear 1, Ear 2, and the Ear Stick. With the upcoming earphones, Nothing decided to change their naming convention. The Nothing Ear earbuds are expected to pack considerable upgrades over the Ear 2. Realme Buds T110 true wireless stereo (TWS) earphones are all set to hit the Indian market on April 15, the Chinese company has confirmed. The earphones will be launched in the country alongside the Realme P1 5G series smartphones. The Realme Buds T110 feature 10mm dynamic drivers and offer AI-based Environmental Noise Canceling (ENC) for call noise cancellation. They are said to offer up to 38 hours of total playback time. The Realme Buds T110 were launched in China earlier this week alongside the Realme GT Neo 6 SE.

The teaser suggests a green colour option and an in-ear design with a stem for the earbuds. They are teased to come with 10mm dynamic drivers and will offer AI ENC. Samsung could expand its native artificial intelligence (AI) suite of features for its smartphones, Galaxy AI, to more devices. On Wednesday, the South Korean tech giant announced a new update to Galaxy AI that added support for new languages and dialects. In the same post, the company hinted that the suite of features could be introduced to more devices soon. This has led to speculation on whether these features can be brought to older devices such as the Galaxy S22 series.
This potential teaser by the company was first spotted by 9to5Google. Towards the end of the announcement post of increasing the number of supported languages for Galaxy AI, the company also listed the devices that currently support the AI features. The post stated, “The newly supported Galaxy AI languages and dialects will each be available for download as a language pack from the Settings app across all devices that support Galaxy AI. That includes the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series, with more coming soon.”
The reason for speculation is the last four words of the paragraph. So far, there has been confusion on whether the company was going to support devices older than the Galaxy S23 series for the AI features, given some of the features were offered on-device that required powerful hardware to carry out the processing. Last month, a report revealed that TM Roh, the President of Samsung’s mobile division, said in a shareholders’ meeting in Seoul, “Resources and efforts are being invested. We are gradually preparing plans to support a fully-fledged Galaxy AI experience [in the S22 series and older Samsung devices].”
However, other reports also highlighted that it might not be possible to bring these features to older devices given the hardware limitations. Although the post does not clarify whether it meant newer midrange Galaxy smartphones and Galaxy Books lineup, or older devices. One suggested way to support older devices is by making all the features on-server so the device does not have to bear the stress of managing the processing. Another method could be optimising these features for older devices. If this is done, users may not be able to experience the full experience of the feature but will still be able to use it in some form.
Adding Galaxy AI capabilities to a wider range of devices is also in the best interest of Samsung. At the time of launching the feature alongside the Galaxy S24 series, the company said that these features would be free to use until the end of 2025, and a subscription fee might be charged afterwards. If the suite of features reaches more users, the smartphone maker will stand to rake in more revenue through this service.

The Fallout TV show, which is available now via Amazon Prime Video, has already been a massive hit, but we shouldn’t forget about the role-playing game (RPG) series it’s based on. Luckily, developer Bethesda Game Studios is showing Fallout 4 some love with a free update that will bring a whole host of improvements to players.
Available on April 25, the update will offer a native PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S version of the game for the first time, finally allowing it to take full advantage of current generation hardware. This means new Performance and Quality mode settings, making the game playable at up to a smooth 60fps in higher resolutions. Each version will also benefit from general stability improvements and various bug fixes.
Over on PC, you’ll soon be able to enjoy widescreen and ultra-widescreen support. The game, which is already available via Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG, will also be coming to the Epic Games Store. There’s even good news for Steam Deck owners, as Fallout 4 will be Steam Deck verified at long last – ensuring smooth compatibility on the gaming handheld.
Don’t worry if you don’t own any of the latest systems, however, as small improvements will be made to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game too. This includes improved stability and the fixing of some quest issues.
The update also brings some free Creation Club content, like the ‘Echoes of the Past’ quest. In addition to the new Enclave Colonel uniform, you will also be able to obtain Enclave Weapon Skins, Enclave Armor Skins, a Tesla Cannon, Hellfire Power Armor, X-02 Power Armor, and a Heavy Incinerator. This is on top of the Makeshift Weapon Pack, which introduces a range of improvised weapons fashioned after everyday objects, and 38 new Halloween decorations for your settlement.
Considering the fact that Fallout 4 was released almost nine years ago, it’s pretty impressive to see that it’s still receiving substantial free updates like this. If you loved the TV show but are otherwise completely new to the series, this update sounds like it’ll be the perfect time for you to jump in.

So, it has become quite clear that traditional defense strategies are no longer sufficient to effectively safeguard the business, improve identity security and combat attackers’ evolving tactics. In fact, 66% of companies were affected by ransomware in 2023, and this number is only expected to increase.
Ransomware is no longer just about creating sophisticated malicious software to infect people’s computers – cyberattackers have now started using and exploiting organizations’ legitimate software to conduct malicious activities and steal people’s identity without creating their own custom malware.
Cybercriminals capitalize on vulnerabilities in Open Source Software (OSS), seamlessly integrating their malicious elements into OSS framework. The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has recently warned that this trend is only getting more common, highlighting instances like the Lockbit operation. This is an example of cyber attackers using legitimate, free software for various malicious activities, such as exploring networks, accessing remotely, tunnelling, stealing credentials and taking files.
Unfortunately, conventional endpoint security solutions often lack the behavior analytics capabilities necessary to detect subtle indicators of compromise such as unusual logins, privilege escalation, program execution or other risky activities. As such, by utilizing the tools already employed by organizations, attackers can acquire admin privileges more easily, while evading detection. Organizations must be aware of these evolving techniques and adapt their defense strategies accordingly.

Six tactics employed throughout the ransomware attack lifecycle
Ransomware actors increasingly use legitimate software to their advantage at various stages of the attack lifecycle. They employ many different tactics, techniques and procedures to advance their missions, including the examples highlighted below.
Initial Infection: Securing initial access presents a diverse range of options for attackers. Some opt for exploiting vulnerabilities, utilising common vulnerability exploitations (CVEs) against susceptible targets. Others resort to stealing, forging, altering or manipulating cookies from users’ web sessions. Alternatively, they employ phishing emails to deceive users into downloading genuine applications.
Persistence: Attackers leverage legitimate software to establish backdoors, ensuring persistence and command and control. This involves manipulating these tools to bypass Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), modify, or disable existing security tools to avoid detection, from terminating endpoint detection and response (EDR)- protected processes to modifying/deleting registry keys or configuration measures. In instances like the RMM ransomware attacks mentioned earlier, threat actors utilized portable executables within the software to gain access without requiring local admin privileges or a complete software installation.

Many default software programs on a machine become potential targets for hijacking, guaranteeing the execution of malicious programs. Application features such as task schedulers are also abused for maintaining persistence, launching programs or scripts at specified times.
Privilege Escalation: User Account Control (UAC) protects Windows operating systems, prompting admin credentials for any attempt to run a program as an administrator. While most ransomware today doesn’t demand admin rights, attackers often focus on bypassing UAC to elevate access and establish persistence.
Lateral Movement: Certain tools inadvertently facilitate malicious privilege escalation and lateral movement. Examples include AdFind, a command-line query tool for Active Directory, and AdvancedRun, enabling privilege escalation by altering settings before running software. Additionally, various Windows features functioning as remote procedural call (RPC) servers become vulnerable points for lateral movement when abused by attackers.
Encryption: Encryption serves both as a protective tool and a weapon. Encryption tools hide data from unauthorized users, but attackers can also weaponize them as ransomware. Legitimate access to encrypted data can be compromised to bypass encryption controls.
Data Exfiltration: Ransomware operators employing double-extortion techniques often utilize legitimate backup software tools or similar programs for data exfiltration. Recent research by CyberArk Labs noted the use of Discord, a popular collaboration app, for data exfiltration via webhooks.
Malicious actors are also adapting their tools to target multiple platforms and operating systems. For instance, they employ the cross-platform language Rust to target Linux. macOS is not exempt, with attackers exploiting Find My iPhone to infect Apple devices.
Enhancing defense strategies to block ransomware
As ransomware actors are increasingly exploiting legitimate software to perpetrate their attacks, organizations must remain vigilant and proactive in strengthening their identity management security strategies. In particular, embracing an identity-centric defense-in-depth approach is key. This approach includes important security controls such as endpoint detection and response (EDR), anti-virus (AV)/next-generation antivirus (NGAV), content disarm and reconstruction (CDR) email security and patch management – putting least privilege and behavior analytics at the core of the defense strategy.
So, by recognizing and addressing the tactics employed throughout the ransomware attack lifecycle – from initial infection to data exfiltration – companies can bolster their defenses, enhance identity security, mitigate the risk posed by cyber criminals, and safeguard the business against the ever-evolving threat of ransomware.
