Adobe has significantly improved its user experience by introducing several AI tools and features across several products. Adobe revealed that the Acrobat AI Assistant is a generative AI-powered conversational tool which is integrated into Acrobat workflows. The company has used third-party LLM technologies to provide a unique understanding of PDF structure and content.

The AI assistant has the ability to work on several digital documents such as PDFs, Word, PowerPoint, meeting transcripts and more. In terms of its features, users can simply chat with the AI assistant and ask questions regarding their queries about the document. The assistant will also suggest questions based on the PDF’s content and answer questions accordingly. 

If you do not want to read the entire document then generate quick summaries by prompting the Acrobat AI Assistant. Moreover, the AI assistant can generate citations if users are interested in learning more about the information provided in the document. This empowers users with clickable links and they can quickly locate the information. Additionally, it will format the document for the users in seconds. Vivo V30e could be introduced to the global markets including India soon. While Vivo hasn’t officially confirmed the phone, details about it have surfaced online. Previously, an alleged image showing the phone’s retail box had leaked hinting at its design. Now, a new report has surfaced online that suggests some key features of the phone. It will likely succeed the Vivo V29e, which was introduced in India in August 2023. The Vivo V30e, when launched, will join the Vivo V30 and Vivo V30 Pro that were unveiled in the country this March.

According to a 91Mobiles report citing industry sources, the Vivo V30e, expected to launch in India soon, is likely to sport a premium design and a slim 3D curved display. The handset is tipped to be the slimmest phone with a 5,500mAh battery. It is said to feature a Sony IMX882 rear sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support alongside an aura light.

The Vivo V30e is tipped to launch in two colour options – Blue Green and Brown Red, as per the report. The latter shade was spotted in a recent leak as well. The alleged retail box image of the purported model suggested a handset with a redesigned camera module, unlike its supposed Vivo V30 lineup peers. Instead of a rectangular island, the model was seen with a large, circular camera module, placed towards the top left of the rear panel.

An earlier leak suggested that the Vivo V30e could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. It is tipped to run an Android 14-based operating system out-of-the-box.

Notably, the Vivo V30 price in India starts at Rs. 33,999 for the 8GB + 128GB option, while the Vivo V30 Pro starts at Rs. 41,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. They are powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC, and a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, respectively. The handsets are backed by 5,000mAh batteries with 80W fast charging support. The Vivo V30 sports a 50-megapixel triple rear camera unit, while the Pro model is equipped with an additional fourth sensor.

Alt + Ctrl + Del Method

Another method to shut down your Windows laptop is using this combo. Here’s how to do it: 

Step 1: Close all the Windows on your computer. 

Step 2: Press the Alt + Ctrl + Del combination on your keyboard. 

Step 3: From the screen, select the Sign Out option. 

With this, your laptop or PC will be shut down automatically. 

Win + X Method 

Win + X is yet another convenient way to shut down your computer easily. Here’s how you can do it: 

Step 1: From the Windows screen, Press Win + X on your keyboard. 

Step 2: Press U to open the Shut Down or Sign Out section.

Shortcut Keys to Shutdown Mac Laptop or PC 

Mac OS only allows a specific set of keyboard shortcut keys to shut down the system. Here’s what you need to know. 

Cmd + Option + Control + Power Method 

The only way to shut down a Mac laptop or PC by keyboard is by entering the following command: Cmd + Option + Ctrl + Power menu. When you press all of these buttons together, the Mac will close all the applications, and the laptop will shut down.  

How to Shutdown Laptop or PC without using Shortcut Keys 

There are also different ways to shut down your Windows PC or laptop easily. This section will describe four different ways to do so quickly. 

Shutdown Laptop or PC via Run Dialogue 

You can use the Run programme to shutdown your PC. Here’s how: 

Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run dialogue box. 

Step 2: Now enter “ Shutdown –s ” and hit Enter. 

An alert will appear on your screen to tell you that the computer is about to shut down. 

Shutdown Laptop or PC via Command Prompt 

One can also use the command prompt to shut down any Windows laptop or PC. In order to do this, follow these steps: 

Step 1: Press Win + R to open the Run programme. 

Step 2: Now, type “cmd” in the box and then click on Enter. 

Step 3: In the command prompt window, enter the following command: shutdown/s

Step 4: Tap on Enter, and your laptop will shut down. 

Shutdown Laptop or PC by Creating a Shortcut 

Windows also gives you an option to create shortcuts to perform different functions on your laptop or computer. One can also create a shortcut for shutting down a laptop or PC. Here’s how you can do it. 

Step 1: Right-click on the home screen section on your Windows laptop. 

Step 2: Go to New and then click on the Shortcut option. 

Step 3: In the box, enter the following command: shutdown.exe -s -t 00 –f

Step 4: Click on Next to create the shortcut. 

Once you double-click on the icon, the computer will shut down automatically. Interestingly, you can also use this shortcut to create a personalised shortcut key to shut down your computer. Here’s how: 

Step 1: Right-click on the shutdown shortcut you just created and click on Properties. 

Step 2: Go to the Shortcut tab and find the Shortcut key option. 

Step 3: Enter the desired key combination in the field and click OK. 

With this, you have created your shortcut key to shut down your laptop or PC. 

Shutdown Laptop or PC via Power Menu 

Lastly, we have a simple method for shutting down any PC or laptop. It is by using the Power menu on the Windows menu. All you need to do is go to Windows Menu > Power option > Shut down.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a high-risk warning concerning various Microsoft services due to multiple vulnerabilities found in Microsoft products. These vulnerabilities affect a range of Microsoft software, including Windows, Office, Developer Tools, Azure services, Bing, System Center, Dynamics, and Exchange Server.

According to CERT-In, the vulnerabilities could enable an attacker to gain elevated privileges, obtain information disclosure, bypass security restrictions, conduct remote code execution attacks, perform spoofing attacks, or cause denial of service conditions. Essentially, these vulnerabilities could grant hackers significant control over affected systems or compromise sensitive information.

Specifically, CERT-In has identified affected versions of Windows OS, encompassing various iterations of Windows 10 and 11, with vulnerabilities that could potentially allow attackers to take control of devices or remotely access and steal information.

One contributing factor to these vulnerabilities, as identified by CERT-In, is a flaw in the SmartScreen feature designed to protect against malware. Instead of safeguarding devices, this vulnerability could allow malware to infiltrate systems, providing an opportunity for attackers to exploit security weaknesses.

Update all Microsoft services immediately

To mitigate the risk posed by these vulnerabilities, users are advised to ensure their devices are regularly updated with the latest security patches and updates. These updates are crucial for patching vulnerabilities and addressing any security gaps present in the software or products being used.

The advisory comes amidst growing concerns over the “USB charger scam,” a tactic cybercriminals use to exploit unsuspecting individuals who rely on these stations while on the move.

While Airchat incorporates familiar social features like user following, feed scrolling, post reactions, and content sharing, its core focus remains on audio messages. Nonetheless, users have the option to pause audio playback, read transcriptions, and share multimedia content within the platform. Moreover, Airchat introduces an asynchronous, threaded conversation model, contrasting with live audio forums such as Clubhouse or Twitter Spaces. This asynchronous approach allows users to refine their messages before posting, catering to a potentially more introverted user base who prefer thoughtful communication over spontaneous interaction.

Accessing Airchat currently requires an invitation from an existing user, as the platform operates under an early invite-only system. Upon joining, users encounter a feed of audio posts set to play automatically, with the option to adjust playback speed. Creating a post involves tapping the compose button, recording a voice message, and sharing it with followers, who can engage through voice or text replies, likes, and shares.

Is Airchat safe to use?
 

Regarding content moderation, Ravikant mentions the implementation of “complex rules” to mitigate spam and disruptive behavior, although specific details remain undisclosed. Monetisation is not an immediate priority for Airchat, with Ravikant expressing a focus on fostering user interaction over financial gain in the foreseeable future.

Whether Airchat’s novel approach to social interaction garners widespread adoption hinges on user comfort levels with voice-based communication. Nonetheless, the platform presents an intriguing alternative for individuals seeking a more authentic form of social engagement centered around the human voice. If fortunate enough to secure an invite, exploring Airchat’s unique perspective on social audio proves worthwhile.

Google may be shaking things up with the launch of the Pixel 9 series later this year because we could see four individual models, including a renamed Pixel 9 Pro Fold. This nugget of information comes from a “Google insider” who spoke to Android Authority. According to their source, the quartet consists of the base Pixel 9, the Pixel 9 Pro, a new Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the aforementioned foldable. Not much is known about the individual devices. Neither specs nor features were mentioned in the leak. However, all four together in the same lineup suggests they deliver similar performance, which will be a big deal for Pixel Fold fans in particular. 

You see, the original Pixel Fold was a bit of a disappointments. It’s still a solid smartphone, but the Tensor G2 chipset in the Pixel Fold and Pixel 7 series proved to be a dud. Performance is decent but not amazing, and phones with the Tensor G2 tend to have poor battery life. Plus, in our experience, those devices can run unusually hot. Remember, when it launched the Fold cost $1,800 in the US. You can’t fault people for wanting more.

This week, The Information is reporting that Disney Plus is now considering adding a selection of genre-based channels that, instead of on-demand content, just run through a 24/7 schedule of content that will include commercial breaks.

Google is reportedly working on a new way to help users bring order to their messy Gmail accounts on mobile. Initially discovered by industry expert AssembleDebug, a “Manage Subscriptions” section will be added to the app’s sidebar menu, housing all of the newsletters and promotions you receive. Tapping the option takes you to a “Subscriptions’” page displaying all of the mailing lists you are currently subscribed to. Tech news site PiunikaWeb states the window shows you messages based on criteria you specify.

It’s unknown exactly what that criteria may entail, however AssembleDebug found strings of code for the feature, providing insight into how it could work. There seems to filters that let you highlight certain mailing lists according to how many messages they send out “per quarter.” You can single out groups sending “less than 10,” “between 10 to 20,” or more than 20 emails within a time period. Alongside the entries will be the logo of the mailing list with an unsubscribe button.
