Google Chrome may soon add this browser history-related feature for Android users

[ad_1]

Chrome is a popular web browser developed by Google. The tech giant keeps adding new features to this platform to improve user experience. In 2021, the company enabled users to remove their account history as recent as up to the last 15 minutes on Google app. This functionality also arrived for Android devices earlier in 2022. The option not only allows users to delete their search history but also helps them remove other account activity instantly. This feature also aims to save users from the hassle of digging through their account settings to delete browsing history.
According to a report by ChromeStory, Google may now add this feature to the Chrome app on Android. This Google Chrome feature will make it easier for Android users to delete their browsing history. A new option to delete browsing history up to the last 15 minutes is likely to be added to Chrome’s Android app with an upcoming update.

How Google may be planning to add this option
As per the report, Google has added a new flag to its Chrome app on Android. The report says that it is not clear if the flag offers an option to help users to remove just browsing data or account activity or both. However, the report mentions that the option will appear in the three dots overflow menu in Chrome.
The report also didn’t mention when this feature is likely to rollout. However, this handy option will help users during sensitive browsing. The report also didn’t clarify if this option will later appear in Chrome for iOS or desktop.

Google Chrome may soon allow users to translate text within images
Google is reportedly working on a new feature that will help users to easily translate text within images in Chrome. Currently, this feature is under development and is not available in Chrome Beta or Canary. Google Chrome already allows users to translate entire web pages. For this, users can select the “Translate” option by right clicking the desktop or by tapping the menu button on mobile.

DigiYatra may be adopted by four more airports in March: All the details
DigiYatra may be adopted by four more airports in March: All the details

[ad_1]

DigiYatra is a service that offers passengers contactless, paperless check-in and boarding processes based on facial biometrics. The first phase of this service was launched in three airports — Delhi, Bengaluru and Varanasi in December 2022. According to a report by IANS, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has confirmed that the DigiYatra service will be introduced at four more airports — Kolkata, Pune, Vijayawada and Hyderabad by March. Here are all the details about the DigiYatra service, how it works and how it will be implemented at the airports:
DigiYatra in four more airports: How will it be implemented
In a written reply, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has informed the Lok Sabha that the project is in the implementation stage, the report adds. The written reply also states that the expenses needed for the implementation of Digi Yatra will be on the airport operators.
The reply reads: “The Ministry of Civil Aviation does not provide any budgetary support for its implementation. To give wide publicity to Digi Yatra, airport operators and airline operators are making in-flight announcements, providing help-desk support and displaying banners and films etc. at the airports. Publicity is also being done using social media. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has awarded the work for implementation of biometric boarding system at Kolkata, Pune, Vijayawada and Varanasi airports.”
What is DigiYatra
The Ministry of Civil Aviation launched the Digi Yatra initiative which is a biometric boarding system that uses facial recognition technology (FRT). This system is designed to offer a hassle-free experience to passengers at airports. DigiYatra’s primary goal is to improve passenger experience by eliminating the requirement of verifying tickets and IDs at multiple touchpoints. This system also aims to achieve better throughput in the existing infrastructure using a digital framework. The FRT-based Digi Yatra central ecosystem has been developed by Dataevolve Solutions. The system was chosen via a national startup challenge which was conducted by Niti Aayog under the Atal Innovation Mission.

DigiYatra passenger verification system: How it works
Digi Yatra is a voluntary facility that offers passengers a seamless verification experience at airports. This system doesn’t store passengers’ personally identifiable information (PII). All the passenger’s data is encrypted and stored in the wallet of the passenger’s smartphone. The data is shared only for a limited time. Passengers need to validate their Digi Yatra ID at the airport of travel origin.
Passenger data is then removed from the system within 24 hours of the flight. Facilities that have already implemented Digi Yatra offers touchless passenger validation via FRT. This system helps users to save time at different touch points including — entry to the airport, security hold area (SHA) and boarding area with no CISF intervention.

Apple’s ‘AirPods Lite’ may debut in 2024, says analyst
Apple’s ‘AirPods Lite’ may debut in 2024, says analyst

[ad_1]

It has been a while since we have been hearing about a ‘more affordable version of AirPods,’ known as ‘AirPods Lite‘ under development. Rumours are rife about Apple working on a lower-priced pair of AirPods to compete with affordable earbuds. We now hear that these affordable AirPods could debut sometime in late 2024 or early 2025.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of TF Securities expects Apple to refresh its audio products within the second half of 2024 to early 2024, which could include a second-gen HomePod mini, AirPods Max, and also a new affordable AirPods.
Not long ago, Kuo had said that the affordable AirPods, aka the AirPods Lite, could launch in late 2024 or maybe early 2025. As per the analyst, Apple plans to price the alleged affordable AirPods for $99 (~Rs 8,100).
While Kuo has not mentioned what Apple could call these affordable AirPods, Jeff Pu, an analyst, has referred to them as “AirPods Lite” in an investors’ note.
In 2020, The Elec, a South Korean publication, was the first to toss up the name “AirPods Pro Lite.” The report suggested that these would be the most affordable AirPods to come with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). As per the report, the AirPod Pro Lite would have been launched in the first half of 2021, but even two years later, there are no such earbuds in the company’s portfolio.
It is too early to say anything about these affordable ‘AirPods Lite.’ So, we suggest taking these rumours with a pinch of salt. But, it will surely be interesting if they come up with such low-priced AirPods, which are already one of the best-selling products of Apple.
It was last year only when Apple last upgraded the AirPods with spatial audio, longer battery life, and new touch sensors. Apple still sells both the AirPods – the third-gen and second-gen – for Rs 19,990 and Rs 14,990 in India.

This NFT token is a ‘live scam’, researchers warn
This NFT token is a ‘live scam’, researchers warn

[ad_1]

Security company Check Point Research (CPR) has flagged the popular Dingo Token as a live scam. For those unaware, Dingo Token is a protocol layer that provides a new world of NFT. According to the report, the threat actors behind the token have embedded a backdoor function into the smart contract to manipulate fees going up to as much as 99%. The function has also been used 47 times. The Dingo Token is currently ranked at 774 by market capitalisation at $10,9 million. As per the report, investors of Dingo Token are at risk of potentially losing all their money. CPR has also warned about the growing interest in cryptocurrency scams by hackers.
99% contract fee
The smart contract in Dingo Token charges a 95% tax fee and a 4% liquidity fee. This means that the platform will charge a 99% fee on any transaction with a contract that will steal your funds. The report also shares an image of how the transfer amount is calculated. Apart from this, the report also offers two other images to show how the tax fee and the liquidity fee are calculated.
Head of products vulnerabilities research at Check Point, Oded Vanunu said, “The Dingo Token is a clear scam. We found a backdoor code added to the token smart contract that allows the owner to change the fee charge. They changed it to a staggering 99% fee.”
Vanunu added, “This is a common tactic that locks users’ funds and eventually, the scammers pull out all the money. Scammers are increasingly finding cryptocurrency attractive. They can stay anonymous. It’s fast. It’s lucrative. If you’ve incorporated crypto into your investment portfolio or are interested in investing in crypto in the future, you should use credible exchanges and buy from an established token with numerous transactions behind it.”

Apple may refresh AirPods Max, HomePod mini in 2024
Apple may refresh AirPods Max, HomePod mini in 2024

[ad_1]

Apple seems to be preparing to refresh the AirPods Max and HomePod mini, two of its audio products launched back in 2020, suggests an analyst. However, analysts believe these two may not come before late 2024.
In a tweet, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, suggests that Apple plans to refresh two of its audio products – AirPods Max and HomePod mini. According to the analyst, the mass production of the second-gen AirPods Max and HomePod mini will begin in the second half of 2024. Further adding that these two could debut between the second half of 2024 and the first half of 2025.
As for what comes new with them remains a secret. But, from what we have seen recently, there might be a huge design change with these two since HomePod still looks like the original one, and second-gen AirPods Max is also said to have the same design as the first one, but they might come in new colours.
HomePod mini gets a new feature
It is the first time we are hearing anything about a new HomePod mini. So far, there has been no talk of the HomePod mini being refreshed.
Apple did add one new feature to the original HomePod mini, which basically unlocked the temperature humidity sensor on it. The feature has been there since its inception but was recently activated with a software update.
In the same tweet, Kuo also talks about a new affordable AirPods, which could debut around the same time. We also do not know much about them, except that they could be called “AirPods Lite,” and that they might cost $99.
Apple also has an iPad-like smart display under development, a new Apple TV, and a device that could be a sort of a HomePod and Apple TV combo. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman believes that the smart display and new Apple TV could launch next year, i.e., 2024, but there is no word on when the HomePod and Apple TV will debut.
