Cyberpunk 2077: someone gets beaten up in the streets outside a motel
CDPR dev admits that Cyberpunk 2077 ‘could have been better’

[ad_1]

In a recent stream, Cyberpunk 2077’s quest director Paweł Sasko took the time to answer questions from viewers about the highs and lows of CD Projekt Red’s dystopian sci-fi RPG.

In what might otherwise have been a run-of-the-mill stream of Cyberpunk 2077, Sasko used the platform to answer some fan questions about the title’s story composition and had a lot to say about its narrative design (via PCGamesN (opens in new tab)).

robot vacuum on dock
Is it worth getting a robot vacuum?

[ad_1]

I am blessed to have the opportunity of reviewing some of the best robot vacuums here at TechRadar, and there are honestly no two the same. Each and every robot vacuum that comes through my front door to review in my three-bed home brings something different to the floors, which is refreshing and keeps me on my toes for learning about these fantastic cleaning machines.

It’s not going to come as a surprise to learn what a robot vacuum is supposed to do; they perform an automated vacuum of the floors in the home, which has been set on demand. This means that you no longer have to lug a larger vacuum cleaner around and charge it up before or after use. Some robot vacuums even empty and clean themselves, so you don’t need to do anything – apart from clearing the way for them because they can’t tidy up for you (yet).

Nvidia’s new AI tool for Chrome will make YouTube videos pop

[ad_1]

Nvidia finally revealed the official launch date of its RTX Video Super Resolution feature, which was first announced during CES 2023. The tool, which upscales videos up to 4K resolution using artificial intelligence, is set for a February 2023 release window for both Chrome and Edge browsers.

RTX Video Super Resolution, as clarified to PC Gamer, will allow “resolutions beyond 1080p. It’ll upscale video with a native resolution anywhere between 360p and 1440p, and it’ll work with video up to 144Hz frame rate.” This feature requires either an RTX 3000-series or 4000-series GPU to run. You can see how well it works in the video from Nvidia below.

Could this be the future of video upscaling?

Samsung 990 Pro SSDs are apparently failing fast, and nobody knows why

[ad_1]

According to multiple reports, it looks like Samsung’s latest flagship solid-state drive – the Samsung 990 Pro (opens in new tab) – is experiencing some serious hardware problems.

A report published on Neowin (opens in new tab), which was preceded by the author of the report posting on Reddit about his own experience with the issue, claims that the 990 Pro is losing ‘drive health’ at an alarmingly fast rate. Some users have reported seeing drops of 10% in total health or more within just a matter of days.

5G IoT connections are set to hit a major milestone this year

[ad_1]

A new study has identified 2023 as a huge turning point for 5G IoT (Internet of Things) connections globally, and the next three years are set to see those come into their own.

Juniper Research estimates that, already, there are 17 million 5G IoT connections worldwide this year, however the figure is set to expand by 1,100% over the next three years to the point that 116 million connections will be active in 2026.

Russian firms are being bombarded with DDoS attacks

As Russia’s military was bombarding Ukraine, back at home, Russian companies were being bombarded with Distributed Denial of Service (opens in new tab) (DDoS) attacks – with such incidents against Russian entities reaching new highs in 2022.

Figures from Rostelecom, Russia’s biggest ISP, claim there were 21.5 million DDoS attacks carried out against some 600 organizations in the country in 2022.

This Elden Ring mod just gave me something I wish was in the base game

[ad_1]

If you play Elden Ring on PC, then you might just want to give the free Reforged mod a download, especially after its latest big update.

That’s because the latest Elden Ring Reforged update has added a full bestiary to the game. That’s right; a comprehensive list of all enemy types and bosses found throughout The Lands Between can now be accessed and researched via the Codex of the All-Knowing. Updating the mod to the latest version spawns a chest in the Roundtable Hold hub where the codex can be obtained (thanks, Wccftech (opens in new tab)).

How to find your sleep window and catch better ZZZs

[ad_1]

Do you find that despite your best efforts, you’re not getting the quality sleep you need every night? It’s possible that even if you’ve invested in the best mattress and best pillow to go with it, you might still be struggling to fall asleep and waking up tired and irritable in the morning after a night of inadequate slumber.

If that’s you, it could be helpful to figure out what your sleep window is. Essentially it describes the optimal time period in which someone should fall asleep to get the most restful night; the tricky thing is that everyone has their own individual sleep window is slightly different, so there’s no right answer as to when it should be.
