Samsung and LG are the two major players in the display industry. Only a few display suppliers currently compete with each other at the same level and these two are one of the most notable providers. Moreover, display technologies keep evolving and situations arise as panel costs become affordable with time. Initially, the OLED display technology was used only for premium products, but now companies can adopt these panels for their mid-range and entry-level devices as well. LG is soon expected to ship its first-ever laptop with an OLED screen. However, a new report says that the company may not use LG displays for its first OLED laptop and may adopt its rival Smasung’s panels for the same. LG unveiled its upcoming Gram Style Series laptops at the CES 2023, which was held earlier this month in Las Vegas, US. LG Gram Style series laptops: OLED panels The newly launched LG Gram Style series laptops will be the company’s first OLED laptops. Similar to the Galaxy Book 3 lineup, the latest laptop lineup will include 14-inch and 16-inch models. According to a report by Sammobile, these new laptops will be powered by Samsung Display’s OLED technology. The LG Gram Style series contains the LG Gram Ultra Slim and LG Gram Style laptops. LG has also revealed that these panels cover DCI-P3 100%. This means that the laptop’s OLED display is expected to offer improved colour reproduction, as well as a 100,000:1 contrast ratio and 400 nits of peak brightness.
Why LG is using Samsung’s display As per the report, the reason LG is using its rival’s display is the company’s manufacturing restrictions. LG can produce flexible OLED panels but it will need some restructuring of its production line to mass-produce rigid OLED screens. However, it is important to note that the company already supplies flexible OLED panels to Apple for the iPhone and Apple Watch models along with some premium automobiles. What are rigid OLED panels Rigid OLED panels are cheaper than their flexible counterparts as it uses glass substrates instead of plastic. Currently, Samsung manufactures rigid OLED panels at its A2 factory in South Korea. These panels are mostly aimed at mid-tier smartphones and IT products like notebooks.
Sources claim that LG may use its flexible OLED panel production facilities to manufacture rigid OLED panels. However, it will be more costly for the company to make rigid panels at production lines originally designed to make flexible OLED panels, the report adds. Wordle today was theoretically a tricky one, with an uncommon W at the start and a double-R in the middle.
WordleBot rated it at an average of 4.3, which is above the standard 4 that most games even out at. I managed it in 4/6 myself, so slightly below the average, despite a poor start that left me with 77 possible answers after my initial guess of CRATE.
With no vowels uncovered on my opening guess, I wanted to play a couple more on my second and went with ROUND. This proved quite fortunate, giving me a green O in position #2 and ruling out the R as the starting letter.
WordleBot said I now had just 7 possible solutions left, although I didn’t know that at the time (you can only use WordleBot once the game is finished). However, I could see that there weren’t many options, and came up with just 4 myself: WORRY, SORRY, LORRY and PORKY. The ones I missed were FORGO, MORPH and WORMY.
All of my options ended in a Y and three had a double R before that, so I decided to head down that path and played SORRY next. I wasn’t right, but WORRY seemed a much more likely answer than the very British LORRY, and so it proved when all five letters turned green.

Wordle #586 was quite a tough one, with WordleBot stating that it took most people 4.6 guesses to solve it. That’s really high: anything above 4 is more difficult than normal, and once you get past 4.5 you’re into very hard territory.
There are a couple of reasons why it might have proved difficult. For starters, it has an F in the fourth position, something that only occurs in 35 of Wordle’s 2,309 games. The double-E in the middle is not that uncommon – 59 games have an EE somewhere – but it still makes the word harder to guess.
Plus, as a word itself BEEFY isn’t all that common; it’s definitely on the slang side of things.
Fortunately, I got very lucky with my second guess after my opening CRATE left me with just a single yellow E.
My go-to second word in these situations is BLEND and that came up trumps, giving me a green B and green E and leaving me with just one possible solution. Lucky me!

What is Wordle?
If you’re on this page then you almost certainly know what Wordle is already, and indeed have probably been playing it for a while. And even if you’ve not been playing it, you must surely have heard of it by now, because it’s the viral word game phenomenon that took the world by storm last year and is still going strong in 2023.
We’ve got a full guide to the game in our What is Wordle page, but if you just want a refresher then here are the basics.
What is Wordle?
Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word each day. You get six guesses, with each one revealing a little more information. If one of the letters in your guess is in the answer and in the right place, it turns green. If it’s in the answer but in the wrong place, it turns yellow. And if it’s not in the answer at all it turns gray. Simple, eh?
It’s played online via the Wordle website (opens in new tab) or the New York Times’ Crossword app (iOS (opens in new tab) / Android (opens in new tab)), and is entirely free.
Crucially, the answer is the same for everyone each day, meaning that you’re competing against the rest of the world, rather than just against yourself or the game. The puzzle then resets each day at midnight in your local time, giving you a new challenge, and the chance to extend your streak.
What are the Wordle rules?
The rules of Wordle are pretty straightforward, but with a couple of curveballs thrown in for good measure.
1. Letters that are in the answer and in the right place turn green.
2. Letters that are in the answer but in the wrong place turn yellow.
3. Letters that are not in the answer turn gray.
4. Answers are never plural.
5. Letters can appear more than once. So if your guess includes two of one letter, they may both turn yellow, both turn green, or one could be yellow and the other green.
6. Each guess must be a valid word in Wordle’s dictionary. You can’t guess ABCDE, for instance.
7. You do not have to include correct letters in subsequent guesses unless you play on Hard mode.
8. You have six guesses to solve the Wordle.
9. You must complete the daily Wordle before midnight in your timezone.
10. All answers are drawn from Wordle’s list of 2,309 solutions. However…
11. Wordle will accept a wider pool of words as guesses – some 10,000 of them. For instance, you can guess a plural such as WORDS. It definitely won’t be right (see point 4 above), but Wordle will accept it as a guess.
All India Conference of Director Generals/ Inspector Generals of Police Meet was held recently in Delhi. The three day conference was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and had 100 invitees including DGP of states/UTs and heads of Central Armed Police Forces. Among other things, the papers submitted at the conference had warning against the vulnerabilities of the high-speed 5G telecom network. These papers were written by some Indian Police Service officers. The papers noted that the 5G network is built on easily accessible and open Internet protocols and it inherit all the vulnerabilities of previous generations that make it vulnerable to cyberattacks and threaten to compromise the security of the entire system. “During the initial transition phase, future 5G networks will inherit all the vulnerabilities of previous generations.” Threats galore “With crypto currencies and decentralised banking systems gaining further popularity using the real-time 5G networks, the linkages and financial trail will be difficult to trace,” the paper noted. “The 5G can provide an excellent platform for the middlemen and agents for creating linkages for crimes like drug trafficking, human and organ trafficking, money laundering, terror financing, etc,” the papers said.
“Due to network function virtualisation (NFV), cyber criminals can employ or execute attacks to access and even alter telephone numbers (target lists) to be monitored,” the paper adds. This may add to the headache of data collection for security establishments as there is no central node through which data passes. The papers note that as 5G can support millions of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Internet of Things (IoTs) and devices per square kilometer, it increases the potential surface area of attack for cybercriminals. Cybercrimes like mobile network mapping, distributed denial of service, draining battery, service degradation, mobile IMSI capture, malware injection, CnC creation, intercepting communication, DNS spoofing, uplink, and downlink impersonations, etc. may be easier to carry out, the papers further said. How to be safe Suggesting safeguards, the papers say that the consumer education on IoT security is critical. It further advises that equipment should be purchased from trusted sources and not from China. “The mobile operators need to adopt a hybrid cloud-based approach where sensitive data is stored locally and less sensitive data stored in the cloud. There is a need for network operators to be alert to the need for resilience of their infrastructure to power outages, natural disasters, misconfiguration etc.,” the papers said.
OnePlus is all set to launch a slew of devices in India next week. The company has scheduled its Cloud 11 event for February 7 where it will launch its flagship smartphone — OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R, OnePlus Buds Pro 2 and the OnePlus smart tv. The company also shared the teaser image of the upcoming tablet which reveals its protruding single lens rear camera. Apart from this, no other information about the tablet is available right now.
However, rumours suggest that OnePlus Pad is expected to launch under the price range of Rs 20,000. It is also expected that the OnePlus Pad will come with Android 12L out-of-the-box. Designed for big screen devices, Android 12L brings changes to the home screen, lock screen, notification shade, device set-up screens and settings. OnePlus Pad likely specifications OnePlus Pad is said to feature a 12.4-inch full HD+ OLED display. The Android tablet is likely to be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The device will reportedly pack 6GB of RAM. OnePlus Pad is expected to sport a dual rear camera. The tablet is said to comprise of 13MP main camera and a 5MP secondary shooter. The company responsible for developing this game is Pune-based developer SuperGaming and it has released a series of high-impact takeovers in London – similar to the ones in New York last year on August 15.

OnePlus is set to expand its product portfolio in the Indian market with the launch of several new devices at an event scheduled for February 7. At this event, the Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed to unveil the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 11R premium smartphones along with OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro and the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. Now, the company has reportedly confirmed that it will launch another device — the OnePlus Pad — at the upcoming event. According to a report by TechRadar, OnePlus has also shared the first image of the tablet to offer the official look at the tablet. The alleged picture shows the company’s first tablet in a Halo Green shade. OnePlus claims it “blends the vibrancy of life with the vastness of space,” the report adds.
